An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Lewandowski in the 16th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Erling Lewandowski came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Go Ahead Eagles were awarded a corner. Cássio Gonçalves went to the cornerflag to take it. Marco Day stood somewhat misplaced when Facundo Bot came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 34 minute. In the 36th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scarafia Ghost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 37th minute of play forced Go Ahead Eagles's goalkeeper Scarafia Ghost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erling Lewandowski in the 40th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Scarafia Ghost reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Go Ahead Eagles booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Mcdonald didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Facundo Bot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Go Ahead Eagles's Mateusz Zabrzeski got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute Erling Lewandowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Facundo Bot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Go Ahead Eagles's supporters rose to their feet, but Facundo Bot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Scarafia Ghost showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The supporters of USA booed when Go Ahead Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erling Lewandowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Go Ahead Eagles's Giorgos Kontodimos was substituted for Erling Lewandowski. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giorgos Kontodimos in the 76th minute of the match. The Go Ahead Eagles players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
