Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jaime Pardo started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Baltasar Ostots hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ariel Cristante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hector Covarrubias's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Benjamin Liher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Benjamin Liher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute Hector Covarrubias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Cristante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 17 minutes, Simon Lehen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ejército Soviético's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Lehen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ejército Soviético's Ariel Cristante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 19th minute of play. If Hector Covarrubias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Diego Tenorio made in the 25th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ejército Soviético's Mauricio Gorbea. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Lehen in the 26th minute of play. In the 41st minute of the match Primitivo Escribano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ariel Cristante showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Ejército Soviético getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Guaberto Onofre hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simon Lehen was the one to do the kick off. Benjamin Liher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Simon Lehen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Jaime Pardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Hector Covarrubias hit a great ball. Tomas Hats struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ejército Soviético. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. 94 minutes into the game, Jose Sanz threw the ball into play from the sideline. Ejército Soviético's Baltasar Ostots quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Lehen in the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ejército Soviético fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paraguay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
