Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Sarmiento in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ovidiu Adrian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santino Seco got in the 15th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Ovidiu Adrian handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiger De Hond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ovidiu Adrian was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mauro Primeiro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 25th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Adrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the game, Mauro Primeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 41st minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Poli Timisoara defense, Axel Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Adrian. The Poli Timisoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidiu Adrian should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Axel Montenegro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ovidiu Adrian, passed just outside the right post. In the 57th minute Poli Timisoara were awarded a corner. Horst-Peter Unterberger went to the cornerflag to take it. Poli Timisoara's Adib Ovi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pedro Manzanares in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tiger De Hond's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Julien-Nils Trede hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Axel Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ovidiu Adrian. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Ovidiu Adrian made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Colombia made a substitution. Horst-Peter Unterberger made in the 69th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. With a little luck, Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian got control of the ball when Abram Secada tried to sneak it across the goal line. Colombia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kevin Mastache in the 70th minute.
