After 19 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Lacasa. Thiago Pliego was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Benito Saturnin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 41 minute of play. In the 44th match minute, Vende Humo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Ubelteso to maneuver through the defense. Benito Saturnin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvano Blech. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
