A collision led to A4p Dejani getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Marius Niculae hit a great ball. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Bogdan Lobonț didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marius Niculae could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Michael Klein kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marius Niculae in the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th match minute, A4p Dejani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Klein to maneuver through the defense. Bogdan Lobonț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Vefik Hisar in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, A4p Dejani's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Bogdan Lobonț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Bogdan Lobonț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isac Mihălțan was the one to do the kick off. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after A4p Dejani's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Michael Klein tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Bogdan Lobonț. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-1 in the 58th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Isac Mihălțan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marius Niculae's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Isac Mihălțan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 84 played minutes A4p Dejani got a freekick which was hit by Michael Klein. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Vefik Hisar, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Isac Mihălțan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bogdan Lobonț made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Luis Andino sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 93 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
