In the 20th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Angelsø in the 22nd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Izaltina FAD's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Peru's Luz Tejedor to fire away a dangerous shot which Manuel Alves despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. William Angelsø could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. In the 38th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Peru's Emmanuel Reyes to fire away a dangerous shot which Manuel Alves despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 41st minute. Luz Tejedor made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that Izaltina FAD's Manuel Alves managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 45th minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Leandro Sugar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matías Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 64thth minute of the game Matías Mendes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Peru booed when Izaltina FAD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wágner de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Izaltina FAD made a substitution. Silvio Honesto replaced Leandro Sugar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Alves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matías Mendes in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Alves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Well-Well Waack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Well-Well Waack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Izaltina FAD's Manuel Alves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Peru's Milagros Fraga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Alves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julian Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Wágner de Sena, made in the 94th minute of the game. Wágner de Sena made in the 95th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Matías Mendes. Manuel Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 96th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
