Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saturnino Lluc in the 8th minute. In the 14th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Santos Lugares FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Aureo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harun Uluer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 21st minute of play forced Santos Lugares FC's goalkeeper Harun Uluer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Saturnino Lluc got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 26th minute of the match Santos Lugares FC got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Saturnino Lluc ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Santos Lugares FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Flavio Gotzon hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Santos Lugares FC defense, Patricio Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Harun Uluer. The Santos Lugares FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Harun Uluer should have stopped the shot. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harun Uluer having to interfere. After 46 minutes of play, Santos Lugares FC's Saturnino Lluc made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saturnino Lluc to make the kick off. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Harun Uluer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harun Uluer having to interfere. After 62 played minutes Santos Lugares FC got a freekick which was hit by Blas Felipo. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harun Uluer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Harun Uluer made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Tomas Illescas scored 1-2 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Harun Uluer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 67 minutes of play, Santos Lugares FC's Saturnino Lluc made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Venegas's late challenge caught a Santos Lugares FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Venegas helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 78th minute, Blas Felipo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harun Uluer came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Harun Uluer made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, Artemio Formerio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Venezuela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
