The supporters of FC Lugano booed when TaTeRo Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gong Bo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in TaTeRo Boys's zone, Cui Cheng Liang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michel Neuer came out of the goal and Cui Cheng Liang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Er Håland managed to get in a good position for a shot. TaTeRo Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Er Håland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. La Para breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. TaTeRo Boys's Michel Neuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmondo Gulli in the 18th minute of play. La Para showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Er Håland in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Saunders in the 26th minute of play forced TaTeRo Boys's goalkeeper Michel Neuer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michel Neuer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Klas Tingelholm went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Zhao Le Sen hit a great ball. La Para showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Er Håland in the 38th minute of the match. Michel Neuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wincenty Kochowski in the 41st minute of play. After 44 played minutes TaTeRo Boys got a freekick which was hit by Masao Tachibana. Michel Neuer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Saunders, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jack Saunders made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Lara in the 52nd minute of play forced TaTeRo Boys's goalkeeper Michel Neuer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
