When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Alfred Cielencki sped through Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. Radomir Zurawski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Radarowcy Szczecin booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Luca Zorita fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Niziolek in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 43rd minute of play forced Radarowcy Szczecin's goalkeeper Radomir Zurawski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Romário in the 45th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Niziolek in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Radomir Zurawski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 74 minutes into the match, Radarowcy Szczecin's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Cadaval came free, but Radomir Zurawski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Facundo Cadaval's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Radomir Zurawski was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Radomir Zurawski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 82nd minute. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
