But to his dismay, Servet Turabi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 5th minute Servet Turabi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléberson Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Esbjerg fB's Rune Griffenfeld nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cléberson Alves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Diamond Football Club's goalkeeper Cléberson Alves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severin Torbell in the 11th minute of play forced Diamond Football Club's goalkeeper Cléberson Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Diamond Football Club booed when Esbjerg fB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Rambov didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 1-3 became the score in the 25th minute when Albertinho Borges elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Diamond Football Club were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Esbjerg fB's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luiz Fernando Pombal took the corner. The corner ended in Alexandre Soeiro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Esbjerg fB's Donato Bordon did a great save. Cléberson Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pelle Hvidegaard in the 38th minute of the match. A collision led to Esbjerg fB getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Servet Turabi hit a great ball. Alexandre Soeiro struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Donato Bordon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diamond Football Club. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Servet Turabi was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Rune Griffenfeld reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cléberson Alves. The goal made the score 1-4. 58 minutes into the game, Servet Turabi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Cléberson Alves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albertinho Borges in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donato Bordon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 86 minutes into the match, Diamond Football Club's goalkeeper Cléberson Alves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Servet Turabi. Servet Turabi in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cléberson Alves, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some careless play in the Esbjerg fB defense, Albertinho Borges kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donato Bordon. The Esbjerg fB fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donato Bordon should have stopped the shot. Esbjerg fB's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
