The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 4th minute Vila Mascote FC were awarded a corner. José Augusto Brito went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that José Augusto Brito got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 9th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 11 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaltino Brito in the 12th minute of the match. Vila Mascote FC's William Rosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 16th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cleiton Vidal got free with Julio Vera in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 minutes, Erasmo Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vila Mascote FC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute, Erasmo Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Vila Mascote FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Isaltino Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 29th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Mota in the 30th minute of play. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Cleiton Vidal sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cleiton Vidal, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Cristian Sancho managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Cleiton Vidal sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. After having played for 47 minutes, Isaltino Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's William Rosa threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 55 minutes in the game, Daniel Zorita dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Vila Mascote FC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Rosa came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. William Rosa came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. William Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Felix Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of William Rosa. That made the score 2-2 after 68 minutes of play. In the 71st minute, Cleiton Vidal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. 77 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Zhang Zheng Liang came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that William Rosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaká Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cleiton Vidal's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. William Rosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Vila Mascote FC to leave the ground with a draw.
