Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Finnman in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 27th minute of play forced Wambalamba FC's goalkeeper Cris Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brian Finnman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th minute Wambalamba FC were awarded a corner. Brian Finnman went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. After 43 played minutes, Wambalamba FC's Brian Finnman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dante Lacasa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wambalamba FC reached it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Vianna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Wambalamba FC's Brian Finnman got a free kick in the 51st minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robin Steckamp in the 53rd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Robin Steckamp made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Brian Finnman struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wambalamba FC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juarês Donato in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. 68 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cris Courtois narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 73rdth minute of the game Robin Steckamp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 79th minute of play forced Wambalamba FC's goalkeeper Cris Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cris Courtois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 86th minute. The corner ended in Luca Rouco almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Wambalamba FC's Cris Courtois did a great save. Many of Mexico's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Mexico may have spent more time on the ball, but Wambalamba FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
