Luca Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Félix Suarez in the 12th minute of play. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Menjivar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgardo Carrillo hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 19th minute of play forced SantaAna's goalkeeper Salvador Menjivar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Menjivar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SantaAna's Salvador Menjivar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Menjivar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SantaAna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 40 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgardo Carrillo. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 43rd minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswaldo Reyes in the 52nd minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Félix Suarez in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Menjivar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Mexico's Luca Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Salvador Menjivar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Mexico's Joel Gaona ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Salvador Menjivar. Salvador Menjivar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Salvador Menjivar made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Salvador Menjivar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carmelo Benavides's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carmelo Benavides helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to SantaAna getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Carmelo Benavides hit a great ball. In the 74th minute of the match Joel Gaona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Salvador Menjivar skillfully saved the ball. In the 78th minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Salvador Menjivar. SantaAna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Facundo Cadaval received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Salvador Menjivar came out and tried to block the shot, but Facundo Cadaval slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 80th minute. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 86 minutes in the game, Alberto Tafalla fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Salvador Menjivar having to interfere. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Salvador Menjivar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Carmelo Benavides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, SantaAna's Salvador Menjivar got control of the ball when Luca Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luca Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Salvador Menjivar having to make a save. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
