The audience thought a goal was coming when Andoni Viso got free with Julio Vera in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Astor Herrera in the 7th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rafal Leszczynski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. Andoni Viso struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for POCASPULGAS. Rafal Leszczynski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 16 minutes in the game, Charly Alcaraz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Julio Vera having to interfere. Rafal Leszczynski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of the match. Andoni Viso took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafal Leszczynski having to interfere. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Rafal Leszczynski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd minute POCASPULGAS were awarded a corner. Andoni Viso went to the cornerflag to take it. POCASPULGAS's Rafal Leszczynski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charly Alcaraz to make the kick off. After some careless play in the POCASPULGAS defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafal Leszczynski. The POCASPULGAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafal Leszczynski should have stopped the shot. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafal Leszczynski having to interfere. Rafal Leszczynski made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. POCASPULGAS made a substitution. Abelardo Montiel replaced Astor Herrera. In the 67th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. POCASPULGAS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Cristian Sancho managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Charly Alcaraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, POCASPULGAS's goalkeeper Rafal Leszczynski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by POCASPULGAS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After 74 minutes POCASPULGAS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 83rd minute, Doru Necșulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Rafal Leszczynski made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target.
