Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Panama's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Spike Foley scored to the left of an out of position Marcos Cotilla, making the score, 1-0. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Percival in the 8th minute of play. In the 8th match minute, Club Atlético de Newell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cliff Kershaw to maneuver through the defense. Dušan Ančic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cliff Kershaw came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Club Atlético de Newell fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cliff Kershaw couldn't finish the play. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute of the match, Pastor Eufemio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Cotilla was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Spike Foley kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 2-0 in the 24 minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Cliff Kershaw in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Panama's Dylan Sarmiento. Marcos Cotilla was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Pastor Eufemio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pastor Eufemio really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. In the 32nd minute, Spike Foley fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Club Atlético de Newell's Sebastian Percival was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 33rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 35 minutes into the game, Pastor Eufemio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla. Pastor Eufemio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 44 minutes of play, Club Atlético de Newell's Spike Foley made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 51st minute of the match, Isidoro Sarmiento got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dušan Ančic was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Tomas Berganza took a quick shot and it went in 6-1 without a chance for Dušan Ančic to make any attempt to save it. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Percival in the 54th minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Sebastian Percival notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Eufemio, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute Pastor Eufemio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Eufemio in the 61st minute of play. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Eufemio, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pastor Eufemio in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Cotilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Club Atlético de Newell made a substitution. Ken Roberts replaced Devon Howson. In the 66th minute Club Atlético de Newell were awarded a corner. Albert Gamble went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Albert Gamble almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla did a great save. 67 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Gamble came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Atlético de Newell's Casey Harban was substituted for Arbi Newell. In the 69th minute of the match Club Atlético de Newell got a corner. Panama's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Albert Gamble ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Spike Foley almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla did a great save. After 70 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Casey Harban. After 74 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Berganza. Spike Foley took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-1. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Spike Foley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute Cliff Kershaw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 95 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Ros. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Percival in the 97th minute of play. There was no doubt that Club Atlético de Newell were the better team. Club Atlético de Newell's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
