Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iker Maria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Iker Maria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 6th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iker Maria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Maria having to interfere. Iker Maria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Maria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, San Antonio FC's Silvestre Elequemedo got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iker Maria skillfully saved the ball. Iker Maria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iker Maria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of the match. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iker Maria. Iker Maria dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Iker Maria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iker Maria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 42 minutes San Antonio FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Iker Maria quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Iker Maria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iker Maria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Iker Maria. San Antonio FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Iker Maria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in San Antonio FC's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iker Maria came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iker Maria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. San Antonio FC's Iker Maria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save San Antonio FC from getting a goal against them. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Maria having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Iker Maria in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Iker Maria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Iker Maria in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
