Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Leontin Voinescu in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. 16 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Dorin Miulescu came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leontin Voinescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hope AFC's goalkeeper Leontin Voinescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorin Miulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Sabin Cartiș left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hope AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 31 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Dorin Miulescu came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Leontin Voinescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes in the game Martin Ciocan did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Sabin Cartiș. Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Rigoberto Mina's late challenge caught a Hope AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rigoberto Mina helped the player get up and apologised. Marin Mereacre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Hope AFC made a substitution. Cornel Lucaci replaced Marin Mereacre. Hope AFC's Vlad Ioanițiu was substituted for Cristo Dimo. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Hannes Ekrot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Leontin Voinescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute Dorin Miulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute Guillermo Mariano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leontin Voinescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augustin Ciocoiu hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leontin Voinescu saved Hope AFC from getting behind. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Tomas Illescas sped through Hope AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leontin Voinescu. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, Hope AFC's Sabin Cartiș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leontin Voinescu having to interfere. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Cornel Lucaci kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augustin Ciocoiu hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Hope AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
