In the 20th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Despite close surveillance by the defense, Nuno Ramos managed to send off a shot that put the ball into the goal to the left of a disappointed goalkeeper. 1-1 in the 23rd minute. 26 minutes into the game, Afonso Amado lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Jonathan Ferrant.
