The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Juantxis Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Anibal Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Anibal Cordoba. Juantxis Futbol Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Anibal Cordoba in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Juantxis Futbol Club's goalkeeper Anibal Cordoba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 27 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Anibal Cordoba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Playo Urruti in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute Juvenal Llorente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Juantxis Futbol Club's Juvenal Llorente nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Rivera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juantxis Futbol Club's Midas Saboya was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Playo Urruti to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 88th minute of play forced Juantxis Futbol Club's goalkeeper Anibal Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th match minute, Juantxis Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Santiago to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Juantxis Futbol Club's Playo Urruti got a free kick in the 91st minute. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Juantxis Futbol Club the free kick. After 95 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. When the referee ended the match the Ecuador players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
