In the 19th minute, Arkadiy Pakhomov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 1-1. After 27 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. In the 28th minute Arkadiy Pakhomov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Savva Evdokimov got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lev Zimin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
