In the 25th minute, Jaime Pardo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paraguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Jonatan Alebom was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jonatan Alebom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 39th minute of the match. When Hector Covarrubias came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hector Covarrubias couldn't finish the play. Jonatan Alebom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute, Joachim Sandell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Pardo in the 46th minute of play forced Östavall's goalkeeper Jonatan Alebom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonatan Alebom having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Jaime Pardo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jonatan Alebom firmly grabbed it by the left post. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 70th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonatan Alebom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Valter Sörman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Östavall's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. After 77 played minutes Östavall got a freekick which was hit by Valter Sörman. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonatan Alebom having to interfere. Jaime Pardo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Jonatan Alebom when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Paraguay played a much better game than Östavall and deserved their victory. The Östavall players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
