Velester Football Club's Yin Zhi Wei quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 23rd minute, Adriano Carafa made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Emanuel Gliga ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Comunardo Valente sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Adriano Carafa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Velester Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano Carafa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ferdinando Scarinci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 43rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Carafa in the 45th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Comunardo Valente was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Velester Football Club's Ferdinando Scarinci got control of the ball when Abram Sarmiento tried to sneak it across the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Velester Football Club's goalkeeper Ferdinando Scarinci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Montenegro. Ferdinando Scarinci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 57th minute of the match. The supporters of Velester Football Club booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After taking down the ball on Colombia's corner Orlando Tafalla fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ferdinando Scarinci quite easily take care of the ball. The corner ended in Axel Montenegro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Velester Football Club's Ferdinando Scarinci did a great save. In the 67th minute, Axel Montenegro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ferdinando Scarinci. The goal made the score 1-1. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Velester Football Club's Ferdinando Scarinci proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Velester Football Club from getting a goal against them. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Comunardo Valente in the 79th minute of play. Ferdinando Scarinci stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ignacio Mastache's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Abram Secada dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ferdinando Scarinci, 1-2. In the 91stth minute of the game Comunardo Valente who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Joshua Garrido hit a great ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Colombia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
