Pascual Elorri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Benjamin Schmelter came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Laferrere FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Schmelter couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute, Lynge Ardensberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Paraguay from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Laferrere FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Jerardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mariano Jerardo's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mariano Jerardo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, Laferrere FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mariano Jerardo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Pardo in the 46th minute of play forced Laferrere FC's goalkeeper Dave Quattrocchi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 53 minutes, Alan Campos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraguay and the Laferrere FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 61 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Alan Campos. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benjamin Schmelter in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. Primitivo Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. The Laferrere FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paraguay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
