In the 4th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute Marcelo Abastas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Areosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Pista Uno F.C. defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Areosa. The Pista Uno F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Areosa should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Areosa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Rolando Areosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 28th match minute, Pista Uno F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santos Marin to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Pista Uno F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Rolando Areosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Areosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 41 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Areosa. Pista Uno F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Pista Uno F.C.'s Marcelo Abastas got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Abastas in the 47th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ovidio Tristan was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Pista Uno F.C.'s goalkeeper Rolando Areosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 62nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Areosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Pista Uno F.C.'s zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Areosa came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 65 minutes into the match, Pista Uno F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Rolando Areosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Pista Uno F.C.'s Santos Marin got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Pista Uno F.C.'s Rolando Areosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Pista Uno F.C. from getting a goal against them. After 75 played minutes Pista Uno F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Abastas. Rolando Areosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 77th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 78th minute. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Areosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rolando Areosa firmly grabbed it by the left post. After having played for 83 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Rolando Areosa in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 89th minute. Rolando Areosa made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Pista Uno F.C.'s Evaristo Herrera couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 96th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
