In the 10th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Kilström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, AIK FOTBOLL's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Arne Kilström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Morgan Blom got free with Julio Vera in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 41 minutes into the game, Morgan Blom recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Morgan Blom showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Morgan Blom who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per-Oskar Nykvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off.
