C.'s Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Murilo Prestes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 9 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Doni Velloso. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caco Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 18th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Murilo Prestes. Caco Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 27th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléber da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Caco Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 31st minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Cléber da Costa came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Romero in the 36th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ryszard Iwanowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Caco Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 47th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Murilo Prestes made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Tafalla in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Caco Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Mexico's Alberto Tafalla looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válbson Machado in the 66th minute of play. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caco Azevedo having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Caco Azevedo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 76th minute. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Caco Azevedo quite easily take care of the ball. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo Prestes in the 81st minute of play. SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save SORRISO E. C. from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 94th minute of play forced SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Caco Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The SORRISO E. C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mexico's performance. The match ended with a win for Mexico.
