Lautaro Navarro had in the 11thth minute some difficulties stopping Angelo Cavanna's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edmundo Espiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alessandro Del Bello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Ribera booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentín Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angelo Cavanna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lautaro Navarro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Cristiano Fantauzzi kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Ribera's Baltasar Pio got a free kick in the 51st minute. 55 minutes into the game, Ribera's Hans Wery nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Edmondo Braccia took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Lautaro Navarro to make any attempt to save it. Edmondo Braccia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ivan Navarro fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Ivan Navarro a yellow card for diving instead. 70 minutes into the match, Ribera's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Espinar came free, but Alessandro Del Bello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Honduras lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
