After some careless play in the Sunkens Surtröjor defense, Eliseo Mina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sokol Narev. The Sunkens Surtröjor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sokol Narev should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 78th minute of play forced Sunkens Surtröjor's goalkeeper Sokol Narev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sokol Narev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peru's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
