Peru's Luz Tejedor quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Brent-Jan Van den Driesch, made in the 38th minute of the game. A collision led to Montevideo City Torque getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Cristian Leizaur hit a great ball. In the 43rd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Mina to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Álvarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Agustín Álvarez made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute of the game Brent-Jan Van den Driesch made a throw-in which Agustín Álvarez played forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 63rd minute of play forced Montevideo City Torque's goalkeeper Christophe Troxler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Brent-Jan Van den Driesch in the 68th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Alonso Berganza. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Christophe Troxler in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Brent-Jan Van den Driesch made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. If Rafael Gallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
