After 3 minutes, Hortêncio Garcia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Samagara Real - DMZ and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Samagara Real - DMZ's Hortêncio Garcia got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute of the match Axel Tasis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celsinho Bueno skillfully saved the ball. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute, Lautaro Puig made a precise shot to the right of Celsinho Bueno. Samagara Real - DMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Samagara Real - DMZ's Celsinho Bueno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 23rd minute of play. Costa Rica were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Samagara Real - DMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Tasis took the corner. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Celsinho Bueno in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Claudinho Duarte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Marquinhos Recife lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After having played for 38 minutes, Gilmar Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Samagara Real - DMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilmar Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. In the 41st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. When Roman Sanduru came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Samagara Real - DMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Sanduru couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the match, Samagara Real - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Celsinho Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Samagara Real - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseo Noboa's late challenge caught a Samagara Real - DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Noboa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Samagara Real - DMZ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Costa Rica were winning 0-1.

Roman Sanduru's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roman Sanduru helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Samagara Real - DMZ's Roman Sanduru got a free kick in the 54th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Puig got free with Celsinho Bueno in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Celsinho Bueno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 63rd minute of the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Paes in the 69th minute of play. In the 73rd minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celsinho Bueno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilmar Lopez in the 87th minute of play. Celsinho Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Alcocer in the 95th minute of play.
