The supporters of La Fenix booed when K.R. FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zuri Güemes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Cambiasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Cesar Boladeras was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cesar Boladeras made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Ayrton Senna sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, K.R. FC's Cesar Boladeras got control of the ball when Patricio Hernandez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 15th minute Delmiro Salvadore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Tolino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, La Fenix's Arnoldo Cambiasso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesar Boladeras made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Cesar Boladeras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ayrton Senna in the 27th minute of the match. Eliseo Tolino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmiro Salvadore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boris Bouceda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eliseo Tolino having to make a save. Eliseo Tolino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boris Bouceda in the 46th minute of play. Cesar Boladeras made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Ayrton Senna sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

La Fenix were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after K.R. FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Klim Simonov took the corner. La Fenix's Klim Simonov was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cesar Boladeras in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to La Fenix getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Eloy Truylos hit a great ball. Boris Bouceda struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Eliseo Tolino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for K.R. FC. After having played for 60 minutes, Eloy Truylos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Fenix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eloy Truylos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Arnoldo Cambiasso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The La Fenix fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After some careless play in the La Fenix defense, Julio Garikoitz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliseo Tolino. The La Fenix fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliseo Tolino should have stopped the shot. In the 89th minute Ayrton Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Boladeras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesar Boladeras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Hernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. La Fenix's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
