The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Rodrigues having to interfere. After 8 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Alex Chicote's late challenge caught a Meninos De Cotia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Chicote helped the player get up and apologised. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Del Piero in the 25th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Guillermo Mariano fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Guillermo Mariano a yellow card for diving instead. 27 minutes into the game, one of Venezuela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ramon Del Piero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Faustin Ostermann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Faustin Ostermann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hugo Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Faustin Ostermann. Meninos De Cotia's Miguel Frank managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Salvador Gisbert in the 43 minute of the game. Faustin Ostermann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Faustin Ostermann made the kick off in the second half. Ramon Del Piero scored 1-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Meninos De Cotia's Miguel Frank quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Salvador Gisbert, made in the 59th minute of the game. Joshua Secada hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Salvador Gisbert made in the 62nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Meninos De Cotia's Miguel Frank. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after Meninos De Cotia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Ramon Del Piero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meninos De Cotia's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramon Del Piero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ramon Del Piero struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meninos De Cotia. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Alex Chicote in the 87th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Meninos De Cotia's Nicanor Seber. After 88 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Del Piero, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Jeremias Seco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Del Piero, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Meninos De Cotia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
