Primitivo Escribano's late challenge caught a Malvinas Argentinas F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Malvinas Argentinas F.C. booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Many of Paraguay's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Paraguay may have spent more time on the ball, but Malvinas Argentinas F.C. were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
