Edmundo Espiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mehmet Hamdi İğdemir. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The tension between the Enez and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. Honduras made a substitution. Xavier Costa replaced Edmundo Espiga. A collision led to Enez getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Semail Beykan hit a great ball. After 13 minutes of play, Honduras's Xavier Costa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mehmet Hamdi İğdemir was left in no man's land by his defense there! 19 minutes into the game, Xavier Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Mehmet Hamdi İğdemir was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Enez's Yusuf Saltukalp got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peyami Kayrabay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Honduras booed when Enez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artun Cevizoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavier Costa in the 34th minute of play forced Enez's goalkeeper Mehmet Hamdi İğdemir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xavier Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehmet Hamdi İğdemir having to interfere. When Sebastian Villa came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. Mehmet Hamdi İğdemir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavier Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. A collision led to Enez getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Artun Cevizoğlu hit a great ball. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ümit Tunçkılıç stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hulki Temizel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The tension between the Enez and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 67 minutes, Moises Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the last second Mehmet Hamdi İğdemir throw himself and got hold of the ball when Sebastian Villa in the 71stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The corner ended in Moises Tafalla almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Enez's Mehmet Hamdi İğdemir did a great save. The audience was convinced that Xavier Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mehmet Hamdi İğdemir was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. After 80 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Moises Tafalla. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ümit Tunçkılıç in the 82nd managed to get into a good position.
