An unexpectedly hard shot by Alonzo Gipils in the 4th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Peres in the 9th minute. Joel Caton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Alguacil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Caton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 21st minute of play. Abraham Alguacil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joel Caton having to make a save. When Reasco Landeros fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Loja S.C.'s protests and gave Reasco Landeros a yellow card for diving instead. Abraham Alguacil shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 44th minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper Joel Caton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Caton saved Loja S.C. from getting behind. Justavino Centeno hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the game, Panama's Tomas Berganza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Caton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1.

Abraham Alguacil hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Fabricio Vedeja put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Fabian Sala kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd match minute, Loja S.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Sala to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Peres in the 63rd minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Loja S.C. getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Justavino Centeno hit a great ball. If Victor Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Victor Peres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. When Jose Carita fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Jose Carita a yellow card for diving instead. With an all-out effort, Panama's Joel Caton threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Berganza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Luis-Antonio Barraza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabricio Vedeja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis-Antonio Barraza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Loja S.C.'s Reasco Landeros got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Reasco Landeros off the ground. In the 95th minute, Reasco Landeros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
