The supporters of Mexico booed when MarineerS FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Antolin didn't get a good kick on the ball. MarineerS FK's Arnoldo Leicea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save MarineerS FK from getting a goal against them. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 7th minute. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Cezmi Gök kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. A hard shot by Joel Gaona from long distance, 12 minutes into the match, got Arnoldo Leicea's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 14th minute, John Antolin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnoldo Leicea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 16th minute of play. Arnoldo Leicea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnoldo Leicea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 26 minutes into the match, MarineerS FK's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Arnoldo Leicea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Kıvanç Balyemez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnoldo Leicea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Arnoldo Leicea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 33rd minute of play forced MarineerS FK's goalkeeper Arnoldo Leicea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valentin Rydberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute of the match Mexico got a corner. MarineerS FK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Arnoldo Leicea despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Arnoldo Leicea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 50th minute of play. Arnoldo Leicea came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Facundo Cadaval. But to his dismay, Facundo Cadaval quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 69th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnoldo Leicea was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnoldo Leicea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Žydrūnas Pauža in the 73rd minute of play. Arnoldo Leicea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 74th minute of the match. In the 77th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Leicea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valentin Rydberg. Žydrūnas Pauža did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-2 to the left of a surprised Dante Lacasa 83 minutes into the match. MarineerS FK's Serafino Modestio was substituted for Kıvanç Balyemez. Lautaro Mancebo scored 4-2 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnoldo Leicea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Arnoldo Leicea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play.
