In the 15th minute of the match, Horea Cucu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kiko Meireles saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dumitru Neața took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldemer Cartagena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But to his dismay, Horea Cucu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Roland Wray kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johan Fano got free with Dumitru Neața in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
