Marco Pero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ZAFIRO FC's Armando Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 26th minute of play. Armando Paredes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abram Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Delmiro Donostia was slow to take the kick. During this time ZAFIRO FC's players had a chance to rest. Pascual Carballar's late challenge caught a ZAFIRO FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pascual Carballar helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Pascual Carballar got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Marco Pero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Marco Pero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Armando Paredes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Axel Montenegro scored 2-2 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armando Paredes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marco Pero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Armando Paredes made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. ZAFIRO FC's Gervasio Txaran quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luis Cazalla, made in the 69th minute of the game. Armando Paredes came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Colombia's Abram Secada. But to his dismay, Abram Secada quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-6. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Colombia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
