A very good chance for a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Sousa came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Sousa went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Daniel Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Sousa's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute, Daniel Sousa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Capibaribe Stars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Daniel Sousa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-0 in the 35th playminute. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nike 武磊. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 45th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Sousa to strike the kick off in the second half. If Nike 武磊 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Jarl Rossebø notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Daniel Sousa scored 8-0 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Capibaribe Stars's Thomás Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 77th minute of play. After 80 minutes Capibaribe Stars's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. 81 minutes into the match, Daniel Sousa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Thomás Toscano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When Capibaribe Stars's Daniel Sousa in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal.
