Facundo Cadaval fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Aires having to interfere. In the 11th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Aires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Margarita's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Danilo Aires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Margarita's Danilo Aires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Danilo Aires was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Danilo Aires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Margarita's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Danilo Aires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zhang Zhou Lin. In the 38th minute Higinio Urti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Urti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Danilo Aires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Luca Rouco in the 54th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Margarita's Justino Aballe. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Urti in the 56th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Higinio Urti came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Margarita's Danilo Aires proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Margarita from getting a goal against them. Danilo Aires made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 73rd minute. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute, Cugat Zabalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Margarita's Danilo Aires got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Danilo Aires threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
