Moises Gayoso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but André Courtois read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonathan Sammut in the 8th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Templars FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but André Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Templars FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Luz Tejedor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Templars FC's André Courtois did a great save. André Courtois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 20th minute of the match. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Templars FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but André Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Templars FC booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmanuel Reyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonathan Sammut stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. André Courtois came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Eliseo Mina might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over André Courtois. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Mina ran back to his position shaking his head. 64 minutes in the game, Moises Gayoso fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without André Courtois having to interfere. When Adelino Marques fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Templars FC's protests and gave Adelino Marques a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Adelino Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Templars FC made a substitution. Márk Kovács replaced Jonathan Sammut. In the 67th match minute, Templars FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adelino Marques to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Templars FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but André Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márk Kovács, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 82 minutes of play, Templars FC's Márk Kovács made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with André Courtois in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Templars FC to leave the ground with a draw.
