After having played for 7 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Pepe Ferreira hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Mike Axisa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita succeeded in the game's 15th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sliema Dragons FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 23rd minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Mike Axisa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovanni Demicoli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 31st minute of the game Primitivo Andino made a throw-in which Cristian Sancho played forward. 34 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Mike Axisa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mike Axisa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Kim Bolas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Giovanni Demicoli got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 40th minute Baran Erozan suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 40 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. Sliema Dragons FC made a substitution. Matteo Borda replaced Baran Erozan. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 41st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Kim Bolas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sliema Dragons FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kim Bolas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Kim Bolas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kim Bolas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute, Kim Bolas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kim Bolas in the 62nd minute of play. Sliema Dragons FC's 周斐俊 managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Primitivo Andino in the 65 minute of the game. After 70 minutes, Leszek Cupial mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sliema Dragons FC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mike Axisa made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Dejan Cassar scored 3-1 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Dejan Cassar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mike Axisa made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike Axisa having to interfere. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Mike Axisa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of the match. 周斐俊 charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed 周斐俊 the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 91st minute, which Mike Axisa however easily saved by the left post. Pepe Ferreira hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball.
