Cléber Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nevsehir JK's Cléber Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of play. Flávio Melo hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Nevsehir JK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 46 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Nevsehir JK's Cléber Marques. Cléber Marques was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Nevsehir JK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Desiderio Oliveiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Despite this Cléber Marques quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 65th minute of play forced Nevsehir JK's goalkeeper Cléber Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
