When Richard Nixon fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Klingsmoos's protests and gave Richard Nixon a yellow card for diving instead. SV Klingsmoos's Berthold Bach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milagros Fraga in the 4th minute of play. Milagros Fraga scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Berthold Bach, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Berthold Bach came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in SV Klingsmoos's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Berthold Bach came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Berthold Bach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. The supporters of Peru booed when SV Klingsmoos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ghitã Pârlea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torsten Henning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Erik Amend hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Berthold Bach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Nixon came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of SV Klingsmoos's Berthold Bach. Berthold Bach was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Peru were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Anselmo Valentine might have been able to make a better finish in the 50th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anselmo Valentine ran back to his position shaking his head. After 54 played minutes SV Klingsmoos got a freekick which was hit by Che Doderer. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SV Klingsmoos! Berthold Bach had in the 56thth minute some difficulties stopping Luz Tejedor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 59th minute of play forced SV Klingsmoos's goalkeeper Berthold Bach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Che Doderer in the 63 minute of the game. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Nixon in the 69th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Richard Nixon notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milagros Fraga got free with Berthold Bach in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Berthold Bach, 1-4. Che Doderer made in the 76th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 77th minute Torsten Henning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Nixon in the 83rd minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Torsten Henning came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th match minute, SV Klingsmoos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Valentine to maneuver through the defense. Peru made a substitution. The supporters of SV Klingsmoos booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. 99 minutes into the game, Torsten Henning cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
