A beautiful save bye Barcellos Mineiro FC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Barcellos Mineiro FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dale Dolar, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Radul Kokalov got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Julio Vera. Agustín Saelices recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patricio Ugutz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of the match. Dale Dolar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 40th minute, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Dale Dolar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dale Dolar to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Dale Dolar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 59 minutes of play, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Dale Dolar made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 65th minute, Dale Dolar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Wambasther Robben's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wambasther Robben helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Barcellos Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wambasther Robben didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barcellos Mineiro FC made a substitution. Carlos-Henrique Casemiro replaced Tião Paraíba. Barcellos Mineiro FC were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Amílton Loyola took the corner. The corner led Barcellos Mineiro FC's Amerigo Gervasi to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Carrascal went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Jorge Carrascal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorge Carrascal in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Jorge Carrascal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Jorge Carrascal got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Barcellos Mineiro FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
