Carno FK's Hayrullah İrfanoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 33rd minute of play. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Alberto Tafalla sped through Carno FK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hayrullah İrfanoğlu. Cameron Pruett ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Mexico's goalie and right to Sven Vollander. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Mexico's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The supporters of Carno FK booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Leoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Sven Vollander kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time.
