Aguinaga Nebot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Dixon in the 15th minute of play. Canada's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Koby Wright in the 18th minute. The corner led Canada's Richard Mccarthy to fire away a dangerous shot which Aguinaga Nebot despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jax Williamson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Maftei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Canada's Eric Hill managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Oskar Petersson in the 22 minute of the game. In the 60th minute Filip Edwards shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aguinaga Nebot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aguinaga Nebot was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Castillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jax Williamson. That made the score 5-2 in the 93 minute of play. Jan Dixon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aguinaga Nebot having to make a save. Canada were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Esmeraldas S.C. for a fine match.
