Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Intxixu Porregimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Intxixu Porregimon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. After 47 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. Ronaldinho Romero struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexilhão F. C..

If Anaia Barba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Rigoberto Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 59th minute. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mexilhão F. C.! Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Mexilhão F. C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Intxixu Porregimon quite easily take care of the ball. Intxixu Porregimon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anaia Barba in the 75th minute of the match. Ronaldinho Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 81st minute, Germano Pernambucano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 83rd minute, Salvador Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Mexilhão F. C.'s Arthur dos Santos got a free kick in the 85th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldinho Romero in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Intxixu Porregimon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anaia Barba hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. Mexilhão F. C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
