Molfetta sportiva's Flavio Lavatrice played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of play. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by Molfetta sportiva's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Agustín Saelices heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmine Iannone in the 14th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmine Iannone in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play forced Molfetta sportiva's goalkeeper Flavio Lavatrice to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Flavio Lavatrice was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alfonso Cirigliano hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 31 minutes, Carmine Iannone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Molfetta sportiva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carmine Iannone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play forced Molfetta sportiva's goalkeeper Flavio Lavatrice to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Molfetta sportiva fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Molfetta sportiva's Cesare Di Renzo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Flavio Lavatrice didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Francisc Bacalbașa's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisc Bacalbașa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st match minute, Molfetta sportiva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisc Bacalbașa to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Flavio Lavatrice in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Flavio Lavatrice tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmine Iannone in the 55th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flavio Lavatrice was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 1-2. With a little luck, Molfetta sportiva's Flavio Lavatrice got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 63rd minute of play forced Molfetta sportiva's goalkeeper Flavio Lavatrice to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Flavio Lavatrice tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Molfetta sportiva getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Fabiano Fantini hit a great ball. The corner led Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig to a score. 1-3 in the 74th minute. After 77 minutes, Carmine Iannone made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 82nd match minute, Molfetta sportiva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Matthews to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Lavatrice saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Lavatrice having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmine Iannone in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Molfetta sportiva getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Francisc Bacalbașa hit a great ball. Ecuador played a much better game than Molfetta sportiva and deserved their victory. The Molfetta sportiva players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
