If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Epifanio Valery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute of the match. Epifanio Valery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when U21 Totoras F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maxi Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alejandro Ermengol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Epifanio Valery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 44th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Epifanio Valery came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute Benito Pacorro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Epifanio Valery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A well-hit corner resulted in Benito Pacorro heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. A collision led to U21 Totoras F.C. getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Presebal Ubiña hit a great ball. U21 Totoras F.C. made a substitution. Alfréd Marton replaced Alo Hurt. Presebal Ubiña kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. A hard shot 81 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Epifanio Valery managed to make a qualified save. U21 Totoras F.C.'s players were relieved. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Epifanio Valery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Epifanio Valery narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Epifanio Valery made a huge save. Epifanio Valery made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 92nd minute. The U21 Totoras F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
